From concept to creation
Discover the fascinating journey from concept to finished artwork. I often begin with detailed sketches and thought processes that demonstrate how the story and illustrations evolve hand-in-hand. While writing, I imagine how each scene will come alive through the illustrations and characters. Nesta’s unique personality shines through her ever-changing dress, hat, and shoes for each adventure, providing a blend of familiarity and exciting change. Even her hair colour shifts! The colours are paramount, with each book featuring a distinctive scheme driven by the core theme of our planet and its magnificent nature.
